How long have you been djing and what inspired you to start?

2 Years .I use to own a club (club Gucci) and my boy was like why don’t you DJ tonight…we party so hard…next thing i knew the sun came up…lol..its been history since

Who were your music influences growing up?

I would have to say I got hold of my dads old 8 track and reel to reel. The music he had gave me goose bumps as a kid. Real bands like Earth Wind and Fire, Commodors, War, Cameo, and Parliament;  you know real live music. A lot of work goes into it …and they were original.

What do you think makes a good DJ?

I would have to say I humble myself…I vibe with the crowd… I spend hours trying to find that next top hit so when you here it your like “Ohhh…I heard Dj Gunz play that” or something hot you forgot about and say “Ohhh shit that my song”….I keep them wanting more….have them dancing and singing in rl…….. yet i try to stay focus on the music keep it going non stop for a set.

How would you describe your style?

Flavor and swagger . This comes from my fans…lol

Who are your favorite artists?

Pfft …so many would be unjust if I said one.  But if I’m feeling down…or riding home from work…I’ll throw in Marvin Gay and vibe out with him.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure song?

Wow.  I would have to say…”Tender Love” ..by The Force M.D.s.  That song brings tears to my eyes first time I ever knew what love was about.

What was the oddest song request you have ever received?

My boy Otto when I was with WLOC.  I cant remember the song but it was something out of Miami. I  was like “What? By who?” He said, “Never mind.” It was funny

Out of all the songs you have, which one “never fails”?

Right now its “The One” by Mary J. Blige. People cant get enough of it.  Ladies put them ones up all the time.

What do you have to say about the up and coming female DJs proving themselves in such a male dominated field?

I know a lot of women that DJ and can hold it down. Kemi Rock,  longimte DJ Mz Marie, and my sister Jaz the body. There is one female DJ, Ms305.  She is up and coming and she holds it down.  Also Dj Lala.  They all do their thing.

What advice would you give to up and coming DJs?

If you want take this serious…perfect the craft…don’t be another i-pod dj.   Keep the crowd into it, or you’ll find yourself dj’ing by yourself.

When all the partying is over how do you like to just chill?

Back to the lab to check the numbers. What was the high point? Where was the low point?  What song did I forget to play? Then I make another play list for next set.

What can we expect from you in 2010?

BIG THINGS. Going all out. I’m on some take over shit. Wanna be the best radio station on the grid…feel me.

Any shouts you would like to make?

BIG ups to the Man upstairs.   First shouts to Gunz fan club (we at 201 and climbing). Hugz to my right hand…Damita Knox,  my sissy  Isis, and Payton.
