I worked in music for about 6 years in RL, I’ve been “DJing” only in SL for about two years. My inspiration, I own a club, and as a business person, getting people to commit in SL can be difficult, so I had so great friends, who I bugged daily for about a week, got the info I needed and taught myself the basics, so that when my DJ’s didn’t show, party could still go on.
Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Byron Lee…Soca, Calypso and Reggae are my roots, but my family was very eclectique so i grew up with R&B, Soul, you name it. Music has always been a big part of my life.
Their love for music, their knowledge, and their personality.
Geez, I don’t think my keyboard could handle me typing out that list.
Moonlight Sonata by Beethovan, bet your weren’t expecting that =-)
Considering my varied taste in music, I don’t find anything too odd.
Depends on the crowd I’m playing for, I play some pretty varied sets, but oldies are always goodies.
No I don’t think its a disadvantage. in SL, being a female DJ, if your good and people like hearing you, you don’t have to look for work, it pretty much comes to you, atleast thats what I have found.
Pay attention to crowd and vibe off them. Your personality is just as important as the songs you play and how you play them.
Sit back in a quiet spot, with friends or family and just relax, listen to some easy music.
lol jus going to have to wait and see.
