How long have you been djing and what inspired you to start?

Listening to DJs here in SL and wondering if I could do the same or better. DJing in real life right after high school….making money for college.

Who were your music influences growing up?

A lot of the old school. Temptations, Whispers, Jackson 5, even later stuff like Outkast, Boyz 2 Men, and Jodeci

What do you think makes a good DJ?

Keeping the crowd hype. Knowing what to play when.  Being a DJ is a give/take relationship……you have to feed off the crowd.

How would you describe your style?

Another DJ whom I respect (Jazzy Da Body)…..called me “flashy” so I guess I’ll go with that to a point.  But I like to think I’m interactive and keep the crowd involved.

Who are your favorite artists?

Outkast and Amel Larrieux.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure song?

Gettin Jiggy Wit It by Will Smith

What was the oddest song request you have ever received?

Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice…I thought it was a joke til the guy hit me up twice asking for it.

Out of all the songs you have, which one “never fails”?

Right now, Drop it Low by Esther Dean (shout out to Nicci Singh who put me up on it) women love that song.

What do you have to say about the up and coming female DJs proving themselves in such a male dominated field?

No such thing as male dominated.  Me personally, I love to hear female DJs doing it up.  Any man loves to hear a sexy woman’s voice playing stuff they wanna hear it.  I think it’s great female DJs are doing their thing.

What advice would you give to up and coming DJs?

Listen to your crowd.  I see/hear a lot of DJs playing a song they love…but lose the crowd.  You gotta remember who you’re there for.

When all the partying is over how do you like to just chill?

Listening to R&B.  I love R&B but I think I’ve become known as more of a Hip Hop DJ so I love to sit back and listen to a good vibing song.

What can we expect from you in 2010?

I’m gonna make 2010 even Ugleeier (spelled that way on purpose).

Shout out to all the VSR Fam for making a new home for me.  Shout out to DJ Deep and DJ Lala for getting me started DJing..withouth the two of them…I dunno where I’d be.  Shout out to DJ Gunz for not letting me quit when I got burned out.   Shout out to DJ Certa for keeping me on my toes (I still beat you nicca).  Shout out to DJ Caesar…helped me to learn live mixing is where it’s at.  Shout out to all the loyal listeners because without you….I’d be listening to myself…which is masturbation… without the happy ending.  Shout out to my mom Malayka Nitely, and all my fam…specially my daughters who support me without end…Melissa, Bette, Celeb, Eva, Giaa, Kandi, Tye, Le Le,  Kassie and most definitely Preci.
